WineQ got ZAPped!

February 6th, 2007 · Categories: Wineries, Wine Events

The 16th annual Zinfandel Advocates and Producers Festival at Fort Mason in San Francisco was a great success and a lot of fun! Joel, Joshua and I tasted dozens and dozens of Zinfandels and we received a warm reception from a huge number of wineries that were really excited about our new service. We were able to be most productive during the trade portion of the event, but when they opened the doors to the general public, thousands of local San Francisco college students poured in and it was transformed into a giant warehouse party. Every now and then, there would be a loud cheering roar from the crowd, signifying that a zinfandel glass had met an untimely demise on the concrete.

We had the pleasure of having lunch with Ryan and Ben from Cal Wineries, both of whom were very enthusiastic about business in the wine world, and warm-and-friendly Wine Hiker Russ Beebe, who wrote a very interesting review of the ZAP festival. Here’s a picture of all of us in front of the pavilion that I stole from him (Please forgive me, Russ). WineQ Josh and Marshall are on the right. Extra credit: Guess which one is the hiker!

Later that evening, dinner with Winecast Tim Elliot and Cellar Rat Alan Baker was nothing short of a blast. Good luck with that redhead, Alan.

No forgiveness required, Marshall! You can grab my photos and link back to me anytime. I see El Jefe at Twisted Oak will soon add to your lineup. Most excellent! Great meeting you and Josh at ZAP, my man.
