C: Ruby garnet N: Green at first, then some dusty red fruit, but still seems stemmy with some oak P: Thinner fruit, but very acidic for a red blend. Finishes with cherry and sweet oak but seems harsh and disjointed. Medium tannin levels and medium body. Opened up a bit with some air later. The nose is all-pinot, the finish more Syrah. The Syrah adds some welcome tartness to the pinot, but did not overwhelm it as much as I had anticipated. Nice soft tannins. Very drinkable now. Not being as big a fan of a lot of California pinot myself, I thought the addition of the Syrah was a great way to make the wine a bit more muscular.
