From the Winery

Coral Mustang's mission is unique - producing only Tempranillo wines from select vineyards. This noble grape varietal from Spain produces world-class wine, suitable with a wide variety of food pairings. We are making single vineyard designated Tempranillo as barrel-aged and Rosé wines.

With the rising popularity of Tempranillo and the ever increasing plantings here in California, we search out the best vineyards and are dedicated to producing the highest quality wine that expresses those vineyards and locations.

Tasting Notes

The beautiful color of this Tempranillo Rosé is complimented with aromas of rose, lime and red raspberry. Slight creaminess balanced by acidity makes this the perfect warm weather and winter holiday wine. The lingering finish is fresh with citrus and berries.

Food recommendations:
The perfect wine to go with a picnic of roasted chicken or with summertime grilling of fish (especially salmon) and chicken. This versatile wine can go from your St. Patrick's day corned beef to a Memorial day picnic, to Thanksgiving turkey and ham.

The color of this wine was just beautiful...On the nose I found creamy vanilla and raspberries. The nose was reserved overall. In the mouth the wine showed flavors of raspberries and lime, and raspberry cream, like a raspberry cream soda. Overall the wine was dry but creamy, with tart fruit and crisp and refreshing on the finish...It's another Rose in a great price range that I could easily see drinking all summer on the porch and would certainly be in the running for a Thanksgiving Rose for me.

The word I come up with again and again for this wine is "balanced." Often roses are flabby or acidic, but this one hits the perfect midpoint between round, fruity flavors and good, acidic structure. Deep rose in color, the wine has aromas of rose petals, raspberry, and a hint of strawberry. The palate is pure berry, and is accented with citrus notes. The mid-palate is lush and round, and the finish is dry. I think this would be a great Thanksgiving pick, and at 12.5% alcohol your guests will be able to have more than one glass with dinner without falling asleep in the pumpkin pie!
