From the Winery

Hannah Nicole Vineyards is a family-owned winery producing award-winning Bordeaux and Rhone varietal wines in the eastern portion of Contra Costa County, California. On the edge of the California Delta Waterways, we enjoy long warm summers with cool evenings. During the average growing season, we receive less than 1 inch of rain! We enjoy daytime temperatures that occasionally rise to triple digits and then drop more than 40 degrees in the evening, creating optimal growing conditions for wine grapes. All of our wines are very food-friendly and offer a tremendous value in relation to other California regions.

Good wine. A nice blend between smooth and fruity. Pleasant break from a heavy chard, but not as dry as a 100% savignon blanc.

Great House White

This wine would be a great candidate for your house white. Not as assertively grassy as most sauvignon blancs, it was not as oakey as most fume-style wines, either. The blend of sauvignon blanc and viognier made this wine round and rich, however, which made it a good food wine. Muted aromas of citrus from the sauvignon blanc were paired with floral aromas from the viognier. On the palate, I tasted pink grapefruit and meyer lemon and the finish had more floral notes. This wine tasted clean, and I couldn't imagine a food that it wouldn't go well with--which is why it would make such a good house white.
